Here's the built in cabinetry that is already in my room. I'm thinking of painting it my favorite shade of blue. Gasp! Do I dare? I think I do. Yep. I think I do.
The room has hardwood floors and beautiful wood paneling that I think I'll be keeping intact, so I want to brighten up the space and make it a room that I LONG to go into.
The whole house needs some updating but it's beautiful and we're thrilled to have it. I can't wait to share more pictures (don't worry...I definitely will) but for now just rejoice with me. Our year of fun in 2012 has begun 17 days in with the purchase of a new home!

What wonderful way to start the new year! We bought our first home last summer and it has been so much fun to make into what we want it to be. Congratulations on your new sewing room too!

ReplyDeleteOh WOW, I love it!!! :) Where in Indiana do you live? I live just south of Cincinnati in Northern Kentucky and I have a ton of family that lives in Crothersville (southern Indiana, in between Seymour and Scottsburg).
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!! I would definitely paint that cupboard...you could also paint the paneling and really brighten up that room. We painted some terrible oak paneling that was in my sewing room and it turned out beautifully... You can see photos here...

ReplyDeleteI have gotten this far reading your blog so far and enjoying it a lot. Slow going right now because we have company in the house - extra cooking and visiting taking up my time and forget sewing. No time for that at all. N
