Homeowners!

We did it! After a little delay last week with some paperwork, we have finally closed on our new home here in Indiana. We are officially mortgage holding home owners again. And guess what?! I'm going to have a sewing room again!!

Here's the built in cabinetry that is already in my room. I'm thinking of painting it my favorite shade of blue. Gasp! Do I dare? I think I do. Yep. I think I do.

New sewing room

The room has hardwood floors and beautiful wood paneling that I think I'll be keeping intact, so I want to brighten up the space and make it a room that I LONG to go into.

The whole house needs some updating but it's beautiful and we're thrilled to have it. I can't wait to share more pictures (don't worry...I definitely will) but for now just rejoice with me. Our year of fun in 2012 has begun 17 days in with the purchase of a new home!

  2. Congrats!!! So fun... and LOVE the shelving in your (sewing?) room! I had to buy a cabinet for my sewing room and it smelled like smoke so now I'm doing 2 coats of KILZ primer then some white paint - such a process! But worth it! Yours will look fab blue! Go for it!

(And you got your new house exactly 1 month from our new house! yay for finally having our own spaces!!!!)

  30. How exciting!! I would definitely paint that cupboard...you could also paint the paneling and really brighten up that room. We painted some terrible oak paneling that was in my sewing room and it turned out beautifully... You can see photos here...

  41. Have fun building your nest, Mommy bird!
I have gotten this far reading your blog so far and enjoying it a lot. Slow going right now because we have company in the house - extra cooking and visiting taking up my time and forget sewing. No time for that at all. N
