Autumn Rainbow - A Giveaway!

Hey All!
  I'm still feeling that need for a mental health break, but I'm trying to pull it together for you all.  I am, after all, constantly working with fabric.  So I have plenty to share.  But in case I fall off the blogging ladder, I thought I would share a little fabric to ...ahem... buy your love.

This pretty autumn rainbow was just begging to be grouped together from Laura Gunn's Painter's Canvas Prints.  I've had the pleasure of working with her fabrics a couple of times now and I just had to share some with you all.  There is about a 1/4 yard of each color here.  Certainly enough to make a pretty something for the fall.


I've been working on a quilt for Laura's booth at Quilt Market and it's coming along.  I think I'm ready to whip up a backing and start basting.  Here's a little sneak peak.  I'm using her new line Cosmos again along with some painter's canvas prints.  I wanted to do a design that really shows off her fabrics well, so hopefully this will pop from far away and draw you to her.

  4. Since I live in Hawaii, there's not a huge amount of noticeable difference in Autumn/ Fall. My favorite part is that my birthday is in this season!

  13. My favorite thing about fall is those crisp cool mornings that you know are going to turn into lovely warm days. That, and, of course, the colors. I live in the mid-west with *lots* of maple trees, so fall is filled with bright oranges, reds, yellows, etc.

  23. This fabric is gorgeous! My favorite thing about Autumn is probably the beautiful colors, especially the orange/pumpkin colors. Of course I love the bonfires we have at which I can wear shorts and a sewatshirt and be comfy as I indulge in the wonderfully delicious treats like apple cider, pumpkin cookies, etc.

  25. My favorite thing about fall (since I live in the delta) has be to an old slough of black water with all the fall leaves floating on the surface, and the smell of fall. Nothing prettier and the only pretty thing about the delta :)!

  34. I love the fabric - it does remind me of paint brush strokes - would look great in any quilt!!

    I love the cooler, crisp, fresh air and that hint of decay smell from the leaves and when you can smell a log fire from a house fireplace. I love this time of year. The feeling of starting something new comes back as well.

  48. Fall - in Oklahoma, it means the 110* weather is over, and the wind is (usually) much less than the spring, so it's the ONLY time I like living in the state!

  53. The best thing about fall is the return of the fog in all of it's delicious moistness. I love the taste of it and the way is feels on my skin. Just breathing it is a wonderful sensation.

    BTW, a mental health break is only effective if you actually take the break. So take it! We'll still be here when you come back.

  114. I love the leaves! I especially love to see the changing colors on the mountain side. I love the sound of crunching as you walk on a sidewalk covered with beautiful dry leaves. So many memories as a child of raking leaves into a large pile and diving in, along with my siblings. Fall will forever remind me of my mother as it is her favorite time of year. Mine, too.

  135. Whoa, soo pretty! Hmm, as I kid I just loved the colours of the leaves and jumping into large piles of them. The sound of walking over dry leaves, collecting chestnuts.. Now I love that it's darker earlier which sets the mood better to watch a good film or a favourite TV series. I love that it's the opposite during summer. I guess I'm in favour of daylight savings time simply because of mood management. :)

  136. I love fall in Malta!

    A bit of rain falls giving you reason to stay inside and sew a bit more while the island is slowly turning from burnt out brown to a healthy green. I love that I can walk outside without getting drenched in sweat and I love that you don't have to shower after a walk to the store =) I love that I get to wear a bit more clothes and that the quilts on the couch soon no longer will be purely for decoration purposes but soon will be used to snuggle up under. I love lighting candles and making stews and actually feeling like cooking. I'm honestly chocking myself here, I used to hate fall when I lived in Sweden, now when I think about it, it turns out I really love it! Thank you for making me think and for the chance to win! =D

  145. I love the changing of the colors! We have a plant here called Fireweed that grows the prettiest purple flowers in the late summer but in fall it's leaves turn the best shades of red and orange, the hill sides look like they are on fire.

  153. I love the cooler weather and spending more time outside. I am not a fan of the heat so I usually avoid outdoor activities in the summer during the day. Plus fall brings apples and butternut squash...two of my favorite foods.

  155. First thing is my birthday! I love the sound of the fallen leaves as you walk through them. I love the nip in the air and being able to snuggle under 2-3 quilts at night.

  161. The fall colors are so rich, bright and vibrant. I love the leaves changing colors, scrunching the fallen leaves and the hint of crisp in the air. But I don't want the frost and the knowledge that winter is not far away.

  162. Beautifull fabrics, lots of possibilities!
    My favourite thing about autumn is the wind blowing through the trees, making leaves, acorns and pinecones drop to the ground and looking for the biggest ones with my grandchildren. Watching squirrels running up and down trees, seeing the birdfeeders being emptied in no time, taking shelter for sudden downpours of rain, getting (almost)blown of my bycicle, feeling the wind in my hair, the crispness in the air in the morning, so many things, too many to mention. Autumn is my most favourite season.
    Also curling up on the settee with some handpiecing and a pot of tea, the central heating at a warm 22 C.
